As the US affiliate of the Fondazione, CAPP-USA is a not-for-profit, membership corporation governed by a self-perpetuating, lay-dominated board.  CAPP-USA is a 501(c)(3) and is recognized by the US Treasury as an “intergrated auxiliary” of the Roman Catholic Church.

Nationally, CAPP-USA  is associated with The Catholic University of America with which we developed the Certificate Program in Catholic Social Teaching.  We currently have chapters in Fairfield County, Diocese of Bridgeport (CT); DC, Archdiocese of Washington (DC); Newark, Archdiocese of Newark (NJ). 

In addition, CAPP-USA has a working association with Fordham University's Graduate Program, International Political Economy and Development, to further and make known Pope Francis' goals for Integral Human Development -- to reduce poverty and hunger and to enable men and women to become agents of their own destiny.  CAPP-USA has also had relationships with Fairfield University's Center for Faith and Public Life, Fairfield, CT, and Isabelle Farrington College of Education, Fairfield, CT.

CAPP-USA Mission

Our mission is to evangelize lay Catholic leaders – to help form their consciences on the principles of Catholic Social Doctrine and support their initiatives to implement it in the various sectors of society.


Our goal is to develop a strong, committed group of Catholic lay men and women, rich in faith and theologically prepared to be present in public life to explain, develop and implement CST in our challenging world so as we may become a deep and credible voice in the public square.

Bishop Frank J.
